Indian family where Kapil Sharma father Jitendra Kumar was a head constable in
Punjab Police and Kapil Sharma mother Janak Rani is a house wife. He has an
elder brother Ashok Sharma and a sister Pooja Sharma. Kapil Sharma age was just
23 years, when he lost his father due to cancer and he didn’t have the money to
join any acting course, but due to his sheer talent, many institutions
sponsored his acting course fee. After the tragedy, he did his graduation from
Hindu College, Amritsar, Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar and along
with it he participated in the local theatre as well.

After completing his graduation, the actor moved to Mumbai
started his career as theatre artist. He was paid minimum wages in the initial
stages of his career and he even acted without being paid at all. His initial
passion was singing, but he made his mark as a comedian. Kapil was first
spotted in the comedy show ‘Hasde Hasande Ravo’ on MH One. But he got the real
break in 2007, when he participated in the third season of “The Great Indian
Laughter Challenge”. He was rejected in his first audition in Amritsar, but he
went to Delhi for the audition and got selected there and eventually became the
winner in 2007. Then he participated in ‘Comedy Circus’ on Sony Entertainment
Television.
Kapil Sharma has co-hosted the 6th season of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla
Jaa’ with Manish Paul and few episodes of ‘Bigg Boss’ too. He has also hosted a
comedy show ‘Chhote Miyan’. He also won ‘Kahani Comedy Circus Ki’. After
developing a name in the industry, he launched his own comedy show “Comedy
Nights with Kapil”, under his production house “K9 Production” in 2013 which is
one of the most famous Kapil Sharma TV shows. This show has one of the highest
TRP on Indian television. He had invited many celebrities in this show, some of
them are Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Parineeti Chopra,

the project somehow stopped abruptly. Now director duo Abbas Mustan has signed
Kapil Sharma for a comic film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu’ opposite to Elli Avram. He
found a place in Forbes Indian celebrity list in 2013 for the first time being
ranked 93rd on the list and jumped to 33rd in 2014.

Boss’ contestant Ajaz Khan reports a leading publication. Ajaz has alleged that
“Kapil has become a really big star and he’s comparing himself with Salman Khan
and Shah Rukh Khan.” What made Ajaz burn up on Kapil was, he had shot for a
comic gag in the month of May 2014 for ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ which was not
aired.
