Amrita Singh

Amrita Singh and Sunny Deol starred together for the first time in Betaab. They were young, good-looking and did a great job in the film. Amrita made no secret of the fact that she found Sunny quite attractive. She was apparently besotted with the handsome Jat. During the shooting of Betaab, Amrita and Sunny got on well both on and off the screen. Intimate scenes drew them closer . They smooched on screen and even did a steamy song sequence which wasn't very common during those days. It wasn't long before the reel romance spilled to real life too. Amrita wanted to tell the world about  the love but sunny didn’t want it . She saw no reason to hide her love life and was often heard saying later that the only 'real man' in her life was Sunny Deol. Unfortunately, she had no idea then that Sunny was asking her to tone it down because he had made a very important commitment to his family.

Amrita's mum was totally against relationship. She couldn't understand why her daughter had fallen for a man who was merely an actor. Sources say she had hoped Amrita would settle down with someone who was from a rich and aristocratic family. Back in the day, there was a strong buzz that she had set out to investigate Sunny's background further since she had a hunch that something wasn't quite right. It was rumoured that it was she who first discovered Sunny's hidden relationship with a girl called Pooja in London.

In the Deol household, things were equally bad. Sunny's mother Prakash Kaur was totally against her son dating the bold and attractive Amrita. It was only later that the truth emerged – Sunny Deol was already married to Pooja in England!

Amrita, who was madly in love with Sunny, had no clue about his secret. She would often wonder about his frequent visits to London. Despite a flourishing career as an actor, he kept citing family business in London as an excuse for his long absences. Amrita, like a caring girlfriend, would keep a tab on his meetings and his films. But it was only much later that she discovered that her Prince Charming was already married to Pooja! Incidentally, Pooja was clueless about her husband's relationship with Amrita as well.

Needless to say, the actress was shocked when she first heard the news. The buzz was that a business agreement between Sunny's and Pooja's families turned personal when the Deols agreed that Sunny would marry Pooja. But the Deols also allegedly wanted the marriage to be kept a secret since Sunny was just starting out in Bollywood and the audiences wouldn't accept him as a romantic actor if they knew he was married. That was the reason why Pooja continued to live in London with Sunny visiting her occasionally. When the news of his marriage was finally splashed in the newspapers, Sunny strangely denied them! But this spelt the end of the Amrita and Sunny relationship

Dimple Kapadia

Next up was the ever-so-gorgeous Dimple Kapadia and this affair turned into something way more substantial and serious. According to dnaindia.com, the two eloped and got married! However, there weren’t any reports of a formal second wedding, unlike his father Dharmendra.It is also rumored that daughters of Dimple called Sunny “chote papa” Nonetheless, it is said that the actor had given Kapadia the status of a wife. The relationship that lasted about 11 years obviously did not stand the test of time as Kapadia later married veteran actor Rajesh Khanna.’

Raveena Tondon

When they shot Ziddi and Salaankhein in the 90s, Sunny Deol and Raveena Tondon were hot property. Glossies speculated their friendship had something more to it. The rumours dented their relationship, even though both maintained that there was no truth to it. It also caused stress between Sunny and Akshay, who was then dating Raveena. This was a sall time so called affair .

Raveena, now married to distributor-exhibitor Anil Thadani, is blissfully happy with her two kids. But destiny has a way of bringing friends back together. BT has learnt that Sunny and Raveena bonded big time when they recently bumped into each other. Our source tells us, "Sunny and Raveena are definitely back to being close friends. The two always had a great equation and it's great that they got it back.
