Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna, Bihar. His father
used to work there as a government official. Sushant Singh Rajput family
shifted to New Delhi in the early 2000s. He is the youngest in the family after
his four sisters. Sushant’s sister, Mitu Singh is a state-level cricketer. He
did his initial schooling from St. Karen’s High School in Patna and the later
education was obtained from Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. Not many
know this, but he was pursuing to be a Mechanical Engineer and was a student of
Delhi College of Engineering which is now known as Delhi Technological
University. He had completed three years after which he took a very rigid
decision to switch his career interests, which was acting. People close to
Sushant used to call him Gulshan.
Sushant was a student of Shiamak Davar’s Dance Institute. He
has performed as a backup dancer with the troupe many times including
performances at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 51st Film fare Awards. He
then planned on to move to Mumbai with a desire to excel in the field of
acting. During this period he pursued theatre as well. He took Barry John’s
drama classes for polishing his acting skills. He was also a member of Nadira
Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group. He kept a balance with his acting and dancing.
It was during one of his performances, Balaji Films spotted him which lead to
his first casting as an actor. Sushant Singh Rajput height is 6 feet 0 inches.
The actor has a very fit physique. He is a very flexible person who can also
perform many stunts with much ease.

His career started with Balaji Films ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai
Meraa Dil’. The character played by Sushant was a fresh, active and fun-loving
younger brother to the lead, which was played by Harshad Chopra. He had a very
short run in this serial as his character was later on killed in the show. In
June 2009 Sushant started with his second television show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ as a
lead character, Manav Deshmukh. It was this serial which lead to his popularity
and brought him fame on the small screen. He also found his real life love
interest Ankita Lokhande, as a co-actor on ‘Pavitra Rishta’. Sushant and Ankita
have won many awards on the small screen as the best couple for their show.
During his acting years on the television he had participated in a number of
dance reality shows as well. He participated in another dance based reality
show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4’ in December 2010. He won the tag for the ‘Most
Consistent Performer’.
To enhance his skill Sushant joined a film-making course
abroad and quit his show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in October 2011. He got his big break
when he auditioned for Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che’! He grabbed the role of
one of the three lead characters in the movie. This was Sushant’s first step to
ultimate stardom. The movie was praised a lot by the audience and the critics.
It was also a commercial hit. Sushant’s acting skill was very well acknowledged
by many people including the top critic Rajeev Masand. This was the
initialization of his era. Sushant Singh Rajput movies till now include ‘Kai Po
Che’, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ (opposite to Parineeti Chopra) and PK (opposite to
Anushka Sharma). He is still new in the industry but Sushant Singh Rajput films
